Did you hear? The acquisition process of NI has been completed!
Just yesterday, Emerson (NYSE: EMR) announced that they have acquired NI at an equity value of $8.2 billion.
NI will be a new segment within Emerson called Test & Measurement, in the Software and Control group. The HQ will remain in Austin, Texas. Ritu Favre has been appointed to lead the Test & Measurement segment as Business Group President.
NI will increase Emerson’s discrete market end exposure to its second-largest industry segment. In addition, with software comprising 20% of NI's sales, the acquisition also increases Emerson’s industrial software markets.

With this deal finally closing, we're looking forward to the transitional status coming to an end and NI fully focusing on the future and sharing roadmaps and other information with the community. We’re optimistic that Emerson is in this for the long run, leveraging synergies and growing their T&M software business.
